BEFORE THE RACE IS AFTER THE RACE…
…IT’S THAT TIME AGAIN…
…fast-paced, exciting, thrilling, and incredibly varied!
The Jade Race offers a racing atmosphere from July 17 to 19, 2026—up close and personal. A special experience for drivers and spectators alike!
Against a typically northern German backdrop, motorsport at its finest is practiced right in the heart of nature. Since 2010, drag racing motorsport has been transforming the runway of Jade-Weser Airport into a race track. And it’s not just the drivers in the quarter-mile (402.34 m) acceleration races who have taken a liking to the track. Spectators also enjoy the view of the track from the world’s longest grandstand – the dike!
The racing event is set to be an unforgettable weekend spectacle for everyone involved! There will be something for everyone. But the focus is clearly on motorsport! We are doing everything we can to ensure that the numerous races on the Strip run quickly and smoothly.
The spacious grounds help us in this regard: the runway is 1,459 m long and 30 m wide, offering even the most powerful vehicles a generously sized braking and run-off area. Drivers can quickly reach the paddock or the pre-start area via the separate return route if they want to do further runs.
The DHRA crew from Holland, which has proven itself in many races, is available to provide precise timekeeping accurate to the thousandth of a second. The guys measure and document the times of each race and also ensure fast and professional technical inspection.
The legendary track announcer Benni Voss explains the race action to spectators. He rightly deserves his nickname “Germany’s fastest mouth.” Or better yet, “the walking encyclopedia of drag racing.” Benni not only knows the classes, the cars, and their technology, as well as most of the drivers. He has also been a proven expert in all matters relating to the rules and regulations for years.
The racing therefore takes place at a high international standard.
The public has unrestricted access to the paddock and to the line-up, where the race cars are brought onto the track. Interested visitors can take a look under the hood of the race cars and learn the secrets of speed from the drivers and mechanics. They can hear the engines crackling as they cool down after the races, chasing tenths and hundredths of a second. And it’s just a few steps from the paddock back to the natural grandstand to watch the races.
Local specialist companies have the opportunity to showcase their products and expertise right in the paddock. Experience shows that the repertoire ranges from vehicle refinement and repairs to accessories and the presentation of cars and motorcycles. Informative and rewarding – not only for racing enthusiasts.
The Jade Race is not only open to drivers who have been hooked on drag racing for years. Beginners who want to find out how long seconds can be when you’re chasing speed are also welcome.
What do you need to get in line at the traffic lights? ….
- Read the terms and conditions of participation
- Register (possible in the coming days)
- Get a helmet
- Pass technical inspection
- And: Welcome to the club of speed addicts.
One of the unwritten rules of drag racing is that everyone helps everyone else and that there is no brand snobbery or class envy. We all pursue the same goal: to cover the quarter mile in the shortest possible time with the means at our disposal.
